Applying the Quality Matters Rubric (APPQMR) is a hands-on interactive professional development workshop. The APPQMR will be offered as a one day, face-to-face workshop on Friday, February 24th from 8 AM – 4 PM. Participants in the APPQMR will gain a general overview of the Quality Matters (QM) rubric and will practice applying specific course review standards to an online course. Participants will be able to identify the steps involved in a QM Course Review. Participants who complete the APPQMR will receive a QM certificate in Applying the QM Rubric and will be eligible to move forward to complete the required training in order to become a QM Certified Peer Reviewer.
Quality Matters is a faculty-centered, peer review process that is designed to certify the quality of online and blended courses. QM is a leader in quality assurance for online education and has received national recognition for its peer-based approach and continuous improvement in online education and student learning. The QM process reviews course design using the following eight standards: Course Overview and Introduction, Learning Objectives, Assessment and Measurement, Instructional materials, Learner Interaction and Engagement, Course Technology, Learner Support, and Accessibility.
