SARASOTA (December 12, 2012) – University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee’s College of Business recently finalized its AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) 5th Year Maintenance of Accreditation Report.
USFSM College of Business is the only local program accredited by AACSB, a prestigious distinction that only 10 percent of all business schools worldwide have achieved, which includes 18 standards of quality.
“A good college of Business is the fuel that drives the engine of economic development and our job in the college is to provide high quality fuel,” said Dr. Robert L. Anderson, Dean of the USFSM College of Business. “Maintaining the accreditation of AACSB means the College continues to meet and exceed and the high quality standards set forth by the accrediting association. It places our high-quality business programs in the top 5-10 percent of all business programs in the world.”
The current accreditation is under the umbrella of USF Tampa, but a scheduled meeting to obtain a separate accreditation by the ACCSB will be held January 28 and 29. The accreditation is considered a hallmark of excellence for the College of Business.
Upon separate accreditation, COB hopes to become the honors college for undergraduate business education in the state university system.
