USFSM's Spring Commencement is set for today at 6:30 p.m.

USF Sarasota-Manatee to hold 66th commencement

SARASOTA, Fla. (Dec. 6, 2016) The University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee will hold its fall graduation exercise on Sunday, Dec. 11, at 2 p.m. at the Bradenton Area Convention Center, 1 Haben Blvd., Palmetto.

USFSM’s four colleges – Business, Liberal Arts & Social Sciences, Hospitality & Tourism Leadership and Science & Mathematics – will confer 195 degrees, including 25 master’s degrees. Of those graduating, about 100 are expected to attend the commencement.

USF Sarasota-Manatee to host candidates for state House, Senate

Regional Chancellor Dr. Sandra Stone will represent USF Sarasota-Manatee. USF System President Dr. Judy Genshaft will preside. Dr. G. Pat Wilson, associate professor of the School of Education, will serve as ceremony reader.

Faculty Senate President Dr. Fawn Ngo will bear the university’s mace. Jay Riley, program director of student alumni engagement, will serve as processional announcer. Sarah Bradtmueller, a student in USFSM’s College of Education, will perform the national anthem and USF alma mater.

Special awards will be presented to: Jennifer Caba (Outstanding Graduate Award and Golden Bull Service & Outstanding Leadership Award) and Dr. Jean Kabongo (Outstanding Professor Award).

Caba, incidentally, will assume responsibilities for the campus’ Instagram account to share pictures during her commencement experience. Go to to follow along.
