SARASOTA, Fla. (Sept. 21, 2017) – Students looking to boost their college entrance scores can turn to any of several preparatory classes now being offered at USF Sarasota-Manatee.
The campus is offering a series of classes to help students prepare for standardize tests for admission into college, graduate school, medical school and law school. The classes in the SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT and LSAT exams are offered as part of the campus’ Professional and Continuing Education (PACE) program.
“An increase of just a few points on these tests can mean the difference between being accepted by a program or not,” said Dr. Dina Ciotola, director of PACE at USFSM. “And with scholarship dollars potentially on the line, applicants will benefit from performing their best on test day.”
The two- to three-hour sessions are offered through a mix of live-online and on-demand classes over several days. Students can log-in from anywhere to interact with their teacher and classmates, and because the sessions are recorded they can watch them later at a time that’s more convenient. If they have questions, they can contact their instructor during live-online office hours.
Some classes are offered on weekdays, some on weekends and some in the afternoons or at night to accommodate students’ busy schedules.
The prep sessions are intended to help students improve their test scores by going over topics generally covered on the exams. All textbooks and workbooks are included in the course fees, and course materials will be sent to students’ homes at no additional charge.
